Imaginary Future.

All you need to do, some people seem to imagine, is sit down in a cafe or restaurant somewhere, open up your notebook and start writing. As soon as you have the first few pages finished the publishers will be interested enough to offer you more than just a free lunch. The words will simply flow out unabated, and in their finished form, and you’ll be made for life. An instant bestseller, without you needing to do anything at all.

A dream, nothing more. Anyone who believes that writing is that simple will probably never see anything like a return on their invested time, unless they print out this photograph and stick it on the bathroom mirror.

And I am more than aware of the amount of time and effort it is going to take to make a complete work worthy of trying to offer an agent or publisher, which is why I have been rather less active around the Internet recently, and which is why I will probably remain fairly quiet for quite some time to come. Few distractions, plenty of thinking time. I hope that my faithful readers will forgive me for this absence, although I am still here, and still writing entries and still, whenever something interesting appears, answering messages, mails and comments.

Love & Kisses, Viki.
