LBD

The Little Black Dress, probably one item that almost every woman has in her wardrobe, the perfect thing for almost every occasion! Well, within reason. There are, of course, one or two LBD designs which won’t necessarily be right for a company dinner or a night on the town, but still, there they are and what a selection!

I’ve picked out a few examples of what is available but I am sure most readers of this blog know, there are so many more and fashion – that fickle creature – is constantly changing. The LBD is not simply a small part of a woman’s wardrobe any more, it is something with a wonderful variety of styles and cuts.

But, as I say, it all depends on what the occasion is. I mean, a quiet evening at home with a very, very close friend might be something special where a special LBD is called for. It all depends on what you have planned!

For going out there are so many other details to be considered: where am I going and how formal is it going to be? Do I need to look better than everyone else (well, of course!) in the simplest of styles?

Or do I want to create an impression that no one, and I do mean no one, is ever going to forget?

How risque can I be? How confident am I that a good showing of leg will attract the right sort of attention without distracting from the main show?

Or is the main show just that, a real show? Then you need to consider a few other things too, such as what to wear underneath, not that anyone is likely to forget such a detail. And with most LBDs today, those old trusty granny pants are not going to be coming into use.

Assuming that you’re not comfortable with the complete effect, the total lack of any lines or other distractions.

Although there are some designs which don’t necessarily need to show off too much, even when you are almost showing off everything there is. Somethings are better kept secret.

And, to be honest, black isn’t the only color available, it just has a little bit more charm, a little bit more of the eye-catching effect. Unless you happen to find scarlet fitting! It all depends on what suits you, your style and figure, and just how brave you are.
