There shouldn’t be a single day that goes by without you learning something new, something interesting, something to make you think. It may well be that you don’t realize you’ve learned something but, right through to your dying day, life is a learning experience, right down to that final experience itself.
One of the little things that I’ve learned recently is that smells have their own measurement. It’s called an OLF unit and was defined by Professor Fanger from Denmark. When I first heard of an OLF I thought, oh, a fat, desk-bound Elf in Santa’s workshop (you can tell how recently I came across the term), but that isn’t quite right.
Now, next time I am on a bus and one of those asocial people who have no concern for the comfort of others sprays their entire surrounding area with perfume and clogs up our passages, making us all choke and splutter, I will be able to quantify it.
Love & Kisses, Viki.
