Colors

Posted by Viktoria Michaelis on February 10, 2013 in Personal |

Time, I think, to go back to photography again and bring a little bit of color into your viewing lives. Not everything that interests me has to do with erotica or with beautiful women although, I will admit, beautiful women are definitely a head turner and I wouldn’t miss the chance to look for anything in the world. So, yes, there are beautiful women in this post, but none of them are nude this time. Perhaps later in the week, since I do have one or two saved which are really well worth looking at!

This time, though, I just wanted to show you a few photographs which have appealed to me recently not just because of their subject matter, but more because of the colors shown and the way those colors can change a photograph, can bring a certain mood to it.

No technical information, I shall leave that to the experts, just the photographs and a chance for those interested in make-up, fashion and beauty in photography, as well as for themselves, to see what can be done without over-doing it.

Because, as I have written elsewhere, we don’t all want to end up looking like a clown, or someone on the streets where there is little light who wants to impress you and then take your money for certain services offered!

Even with bright colors, photographs can be subtle, can create an impression, can give you an idea of what the photographer wishes to portray. Even with muted colors, a photograph can come across as something of great beauty, can enhance, can inspire. Perhaps that is why some of the better photographic fashion magazines constantly win prizes for their artists. The idea, you see, is to present a complete image, not just concentrate on one thing, but show what could be when you take the whole into consideration.

Someone may well want to sell you a dress, but the dress is not the whole thing, the person wearing it, their figure, their features, their total appearance is what makes it attractive.

And, in some cases, a feeling of the exotic too.

Love & Kisses, Viki.
