Eat Your Heart Out, Nigeria

Posted by Viktoria Michaelis on March 23, 2013 in News & Opinion |

Heard about the Nigerian Scam (also known as 411)? I’d be surprised if you haven’t. Someone gets in touch with you, tells you that an older family member has died or that tens of millions of dollars need to be ferried out of the country through a clean bank account. The only catch? A bribe has to be paid.

Believe it or not, people are still falling for this scam, every single day. And for a new one from Jamaica:

I’d have thought, with the lack of trust Americans show to one another, that such a scam wouldn’t be possible, but money makes dumb. And dumber can’t be anyone other than an American.
