When I looked at the clock a few hours ago I discovered it was six in the morning and the sun had already begun to lighten the sky. I worked on my new project – Viktoria Michaelis Publications – right through the night. On the one side, not a good thing. On the other: I did manage to get many of the basics completed. The domain was made available very quickly indeed – kudos to the people at Strato – and I was able to configure it, upload my software, find and configure a suitable theme, sort out the basic widgets and write up some of the content. Judging by the marks on my forehead I must have been so tired at the end of it, my nose was almost resting on the keyboard!
I can’t sleep for long during the day. There is something about daylight which gets me going again, recharges my batteries and makes me want to get up and do things. Four hours sleep, I hope, was enough to last me through today which, especially here in this small town, is one of those special days. The May Tree is going to be raised in the marketplace – I just heard the band playing as they marched down my street – and everyone is going to be out there enjoying themselves with the usual supply of beer, grateful for the break in a normal working week.
For the next few hours I’m going to be out there too. I am actually going to tear myself away from my computer, force myself not to do the things that I really want to do, and do something else which I know I will enjoy. Fresh air and sunlight, just what the doctor ordered.
And this afternoon I’ll be back here, at my desk, expanding the web site and hoping – fingers crossed – that there will be a few more donations on my account to help with the next few things I need to finance. Until then, have a wonderful day, and enjoy yourselves!
Love & Kisses, Viki.
