The Power Of A Comma

Have you ever come across that simple sentence which shows you what a comma can do? Which changes a sentence from something inviting to something sinister? It goes like this:

Let’s eat Grandpa / Let’s eat, Grandpa.

It is amazing how many people cannot get to grips with the simplicity of the comma and how it changes what someone else reads. And, sometimes, it is stunning just who makes the mistake which could, for someone reading a sentence quickly, create a completely wrong impression…
