It was much quieter this year, at least that’s the impression I have from my visit to the Broksermarkt in Bruchhausen-Vilsen yesterday – and through to the early hours of this morning. The weather was good, the mood was perfect, but the crowds didn’t seem to be there, even if the dance tents were full with young people and moving around was difficult.
Last year we could hardly move and the year before, the first time I went to the annual market, it was almost impossible to move. Not that I am disappointed, although some of those working the market may well be. We still had a great deal of fun and managed to work off a lot of energy and I came back this morning with good memories, buzzing ears – sadly something which cannot be avoided from all the loud music as one tent vied against another to get customers inside and buying drinks, dancing – and it is an event that I do not want to miss out on as long as I am here. But perhaps money is a little bit short this year, or people just decided to spread their visit out across the whole five days – it finishes on Tuesday with the horse market – or they have memories of the bad weather last year. Who knows.
Love & Kisses, Viki.
