Facebook – Again!

Posted by Viktoria Michaelis on September 11, 2013 in Internet |

As if we didn’t have enough to worry about, it looks as if a Facebook application – downloaded onto smartphones and installed to access Facebook – allows just a little more access than we might wish. The German-language website mimikama reports that this application can use your smart phone to call telephone numbers without you being aware of it, and that includes the most expensive numbers. You pay the bill, whilst Facebook or the application creator has all the pleasure.

I haven’t found this new information on any English-language sites as yet – which doesn’t mean that smartphones outside Germany are not effected – and, strangely enough all the sites linked as reference in the article use exactly the same text and images, but it was enough for me to promise myself never to access Facebook through my cell, and never to download any application, no matter what it may be, which allows me to access Facebook.

Love & Kisses, Viki.
