Hard to believe, but in some parts of Germany the Fall holidays start on Wednesday, when it seems as if the school year had hardly even begun. This year they are also coupled with Reunification Day – on October 3 – which makes for a good two one half weeks away from school and then, just when you get back into the rhythm again, it’s just about Christmas.
Speaking of which: a good three weeks ago I saw my first chocolate Christmas man of the year. He wasn’t alone: there were cakes and pastries and other trinkets of edible beauty along side him. Remember, we’re talking about September here…
Which means that as soon as I have finished gorging myself on chocolate Christmas goodies – say, midway into the first week of January – I can start stocking up on Easter rabbits and eggs. Kind of takes the ‘special’ out of the whole though, don’t you think?
Love & Kisses, Viki.
