The Most Revealing Selfies

Posted by Viktoria Michaelis on June 29, 2014 in Absolute Hot! |

After my little excursion into the social world of selfies yesterday, I thought I would take a look at another aspect which, unless I am very much mistaken, will make a few eyes pop out of their sockets. This has something to do with fashion – in the broadest sense – and a good deal to do with confidence and self-worth.

As women, let’s be honest, we all like to dress up to look our best. Even in a hoodie and jeans, we’ve tried to make sure everything sits properly, that we look our best, that we are comfortable in what we are wearing. All, of course, according to what we happen to be doing. I mean, working in the garden digging weeds is not going to be something anyone does in any of the following outfits, but going out on the town may well be. All depending on where you happen to be going out to.

It might be just lounging around on the beach with a few friends or, as my first photograph shows, a night out with someone a little more special who needs to be impressed in a certain way. Or perhaps someone in a higher position at work where a decent mode of dress is expected.

I wonder, though, what sort of tan lines these bathing suits will leave behind. As you probably know, I’m not a fan of tan lines, but not all bathing costumes are designed for lying around on the beach and soaking up a few rays from the sun.

There are not just people to be seen, but people to be seen with and, often far more important, people who should see you. Not everything needs to be left to the imagination until you get into the hotel bedroom. Stoking the anticipation can be fun too! And if anything is teasing for the fantasy, then the clothing – or lack of fabric – that these ordinary women are wearing.

Not that we are confining ourselves to those who wish to wander along sandy beaches strutting their stuff. Night clubs are a wonderful place, assuming that there is enough light, to see how confident, how outgoing some people are. And it all starts in the store, one of several favorite sites to take your first selfie and see exactly what you look like with that one dress on. Can you call it a dress? It certainly doesn’t seem to leave much to the imagination and I hope, in the case of the young woman above, that she wears something on her legs too. Take a quick glance at her knees and you might think that she’s either been doing the gardening, or is used to having a little pleasure on all fours!

Some people ask themselves, in all seriousness, why men seem to concentrate their gaze on certain prominent parts of a woman rather than looking into her eyes when talking. I’m fairly sure that this young woman – photographs above and below – knows exactly what I mean, exactly what it feels like to be talked to without any eye contact.

Although, judging by the dress, I’m not so sure that it bothers her too much. You can draw a person’s gaze in any direction to wish, with the right clothing. If someone is going to rob a bank, this is what they should wear – no, not you male bank robbers – because no one, and I do mean no one, is going to remember her face. Men should stick with wearing a stocking over their head. Come to think of it, some men should consider a stocking-covered head as a normal form of dress, but I digress.

And if you have the assets, as well as the confidence, why not? Yes, I know that I will probably draw the ire of every single feminist out there who shouts about sexism and pandering to mens’ basest thoughts. There are, however, many women who simply do not have a problem with what they wear: they want to appear sexy; they want to be sexually attractive; they want to draw attention to their bodies. And, if a woman has just spent the last three months getting ready for bikini season, I think it is understandable.

Perhaps they don’t want to be regarded exclusively as a sex object, but you need to find the right person to not treat you as a sex object first, and they tend not to haunt the same sort of clubs as women who wear this type of clothing. Not that there is a type, in that sense of the word. It is a matter of confidence, of self-worth, even if it is purely sexual, even if it is sexist according to some. There is a lot of competition out there, and some of that competition has a fully figure than can be held by a skimpy piece of cloth.

It’s just as well I didn’t decide to do booty photographs too, otherwise I suspect there would be one of two broken monitors out there. Perhaps, since there are so many thousands (tens or hundreds of thousands) of published examples I’ll come back to that form of selfie later.

Did I mention lounging on the beach with a few friends? I think so. Of course, they’d have to be very good friends and, probably, a certain kind of beach too!

But, if you’ve both the figure for it, and the confidence, why not? The tan lines here will definitely tell a tale or two! Although, I’m not too sure that many people would risk full daylight and the admiring gaze of fellow workers when testing the waters with their new costume. But, if you can distract someone away from the fact that you’re wearing dirty coveralls and have just come out of the workshop where you fixed up the gearbox on your car… we all have our talents, but it’s better to keep some of them under wraps.

If you’ve got it, flaunt it. I guess that should go for intelligence too. However, our modern society, so immune to real sexuality thanks to the proliferation of pornography on the Internet, needs something to remind them that there is real life out there; that a flickering image on a small screen in a darkened room, always fearful that your Mother is going to walk in and catch you doing naughty things to yourself.

And, speaking of sexual confidence and sexism:

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, sexual confidence within the mind of whoever takes a chance and steps out of the mundane into the daring, the unknown, the exciting. And all of us, perhaps secretly, perhaps not, have this inner urge to be someone else, to not be seen as that person who files papers and is hardly worth a second glance, that woman who flips hamburgers or waits on tables.

Finally a word for the militant feminists. Yes, you have desires too, believe me, but feminism isn’t just about getting rid of unwelcome comments, sexism and a lower wage in the workplace. It is about being yourself, about realizing your own true potential, about living your own fantasies. We all know that there are limitations, that there is a time and a place for certain things but, at the same time, we all just want to get out and do something wild. Sometimes we just like being feminine, and appealing to the objects of our desires too.

Love & Kisses, Viki.
