It’s that time of day when the turkey, goose, tofu-concoction or whatever you’ve had for your festive meal is cleared away, all the presents have been opened, and everyone is thinking either about going back home, switching on the television, or just disappearing from the memories of another seasonal mess.
What do you do when all the festivities have come to an end? That is, assuming all your friends and relations – and those few uninvited guests freeloading – have gone.

Well, if you’re Barry Petchesky, you catch up on all the surreal news of the year with a highly seasonal posting about, well, you can read the title for yourselves. Everyone else is on Instagram, or Flickr, or some web site somewhere with their festive photographs, their regrets, their hopes for the New Year – which is only a week away, folks! – but not Barry.
It’s good to have a little humor at this time of year, we all need it, but even so…
